Where can i buy a very cheap outdoor dog kennel?
November 19th, 2009my boyfriends moving to a smaller apartment and needs to find one for our medium sized husky. we need to be able to keep her in only certain parts of the yard because she’s a digger. so any ideas on where to find cheap kennels? or ideas on how to keep her in certain places only? we’ll only be using it for the times when were not home.. the rest of the day she’ll be out and about and free.. inside or outside the house.. any help please? we dont have much money and were on a budget! ive already tried petsmart, petco, and even looked on craigslist. help please?
Nancy M. when did i say she’s tried to dig out of a kennel? i dont keep her inside because not only is she a digger, she loves to rip things apart. i dont want to come home to find everything shredded! and she is a very calm dog, weve left her outside before at the house my bf’s living in now.. she doesnt make a sound.. bad experience with you? the apt. is more like its own little house; away from other apt’s. and has a fence. who the hell would poison her? again bad experience? and you said to make her “comfortable” leaving her inside a crate inside the house is comfortable? i prefer outside.. open fresh air.. lots more room! and did you not see the part where i wrote we’re on a budget? doggy daycare is expensive, and i do properly care for her. you dont know me, you cant assume i dont take care of her properly. i didnt ask you to give me your opinion on what im doing. just asked where to get kennels. please dont answer any of my questions. youre no help and youre just annoying.

Why would you think she wouldn’t try to dig out of a kennel? She is more likely to dig out of a smaller area than a large yard but that is beside the point — why are you leaving her outside while you are gone – so she can become a nuicance barker? so she can be poisoned? Why not have her inside while you are gone? If you don’t trust her loose in the apartment, get her a crate, come home at lunch and exercise her, confine her to the kitchen or a room where she can be comfortable – I don’t see that leaving her confined to a kennel outside is an answer to your problem. See if you can locate a doggy daycare in your area and if you can’t afford to properly care for her, find area rescue and don’t get a dog unless you can afford it and properly house and care for it. Huskys are VERY active dogs and this is just a recipe for disaster. Cheap kennels aren’t the answer.

have you tryed contacting any animal rescue groups and asking for a donation? salvation army and good wills often get large kennels donated also pet supply places have no dig sprays I have found pepper to work the best and bitter apple to work wonders think about some toys chew items and a friend for your high energy friend good luck and love bless

I have seen some at home depot the price is under 200. this is still high, i know. you could go to yahoo groups and look up a group called freecycle. and see if there is one in your area. sometimes people are wanting to rid their yard or house of unused things and put them on freecycle to keep from putting things in a landfill that can still be used.
http://www.freecycle.org/ it is free to join and all items listed are free. you can join and list a need on the site as well. i hope you find a kennel, because personally i do not like to have to tie my animals up to keep them in the yard. don’t let others impose their opinions on you. and hopefully there will be something free on freecycle.
